The CSJ Foundation is committed to ensuring the voices of grassroots charities are elevated to national decision makers. Our aim is to bring much-needed frontline experience into national policymaking. Utilising local networks and a philanthropic platform to guide investment, the CSJ Foundation will ensure that charities who are fighting the root causes of poverty receive the right support – both in policymaking and funding. The CSJ Foundation was born out of the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) an independent think tank, established to put social justice at the heart of British politics. Moved by shocking levels of disadvantage across the nation, it studies the root causes of Britain’s acute social problems in partnership with its Alliance of over 500 grassroot charities and people affected by poverty. This enables the CSJ to find and promote evidence-based, experience-led solutions to change lives and transform communities. The CSJ believes that the surest way to reverse social breakdown – and the poverty it creates – is to build resilience within individuals, families and the innovative organisations able to help them. The CSJ Foundation was established to magnify and amplify the crucial role played by grassroots charities and social enterprises around the country. These organisations are on the frontline in the fight against poverty and do incredible work day-in-day-out. Despite this fantastic work, these organisations remain largely unseen and underfunded. The CSJ Foundation seeks to change that. THE ROLE The CSJ Foundation is looking for a Regional Manager in the East Midlands to establish and run a new office in the region. One of the primary aims of this office will be to oversee our Alliance Network of frontline poverty-fighting charities, social enterprises and local government workers. These network members are at the heart of our work and are crucial to us understanding what is driving poverty across Britain and what will work to help people out of poverty. The Regional Manager will hold responsibility for building and maintaining relationships across the East Midlands region; engaging in conversations with local organisations and communities, to ensure that the CSJ’s work to develop and campaign on policy and legal changes to bring about social justice, is strongly influenced by the work of these frontline charities.
