Devolution and fiscal devolution with Sir Andy Street CBE

13 July 2026, 9:30 am – 10:30 am

Location: Online

Think tank: Centre for Cities

This event hosted by UK think tank Centre for Cities discusses whether greater local control over funding can unlock economic growth.

Join Centre for Cities for an online discussion with Sir Andy Street CBE, former Mayor of the West Midlands, and Andrew Carter, Chief Executive of Centre for Cities.

Drawing on his experience leading one of England’s largest city regions, Sir Andy will discuss the progress of devolution in England, the challenges and opportunities ahead, and the case for greater fiscal devolution. The conversation will explore how devolved powers and funding can support economic growth, improve public services and strengthen local leadership.

The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A, offering attendees the opportunity to put their questions directly to Sir Andy Street and Andrew Carter.
