19 November 2025, 8:00 am – 5:45 pm

Location: The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1 5AG

Think tank: The Sutton Trust

This event hosted by UK think tank the Sutton Trust discusses research focusing on the role of higher education in social mobility internationally.

This event will follow research focusing on the role of higher education in social mobility internationally, with a focus on policy learnings for the United Kingdom and United States. The research and event are supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.

The research will take an international and comparative perspective to learn from the successes and failures of efforts to improve access and outcomes in different higher education systems. This will further our knowledge of how education can, more effectively, operate as an engine for breaking down barriers to opportunity.
