Event

We need to talk about social care: issues and opportunities for reform

14 May 2025, 8:30 am – 10:00 am

Location: The King's Fund, 11-13 Cavendish Square London W1G 0AN

Think tank: The King's Fund

This event hosted by UK think tank The King’s Fund will examine why attempts to reform adult social care have failed and actions government must take to address these issues.

This free in-person event comes at a pivotal time for the adult social care sector, coinciding with the beginning of the Casey Commission’s work on long-term adult social care reform, the upcoming publication of the 10-Year Health Plan, and nearly a year into the government’s parliamentary term.

The event will be held by The King’s Fund on Wednesday 14th May, 8:30am – 10:00am.

The event will discuss:

  • Why previous reform efforts have fallen short
  • The impacts on individuals and their families
  • Early actions the government could take to signal progress whilst the Casey Commission grapples with longer-term reform
  • Necessary policy solutions to address these issues effectively and for the long-term.
