This event from the UK think tank The Henry Jackson Society will look at FGM-related issues and the importance of empowering women through the acceptance of their bodies.
Across the world women and girls are educated and indoctrinated into believing that their bodies are something to be ashamed of. There is nowhere in the world where women and girls have fully broken away from the idea that their body, especially their anatomy is something never to be spoken about and if they dare then it’s never open or loud enough for other to hear. This silence is killing us and we need to break away from it. We need a revolution based on oversharing and we need it to share now.
The Henry Jackson Society will host a presentation and discussion on the importance of empowering women through the acceptance of their bodies. Nimco will address FGM-related issues and present her book ‘What We Are Told Not To Talk About’ on this specific topic.Click here to book your place
