The UK’s recovery

This event, hosted by UK think tank the Resolution Foundation will discuss the Covid recovery plan and the role of firms & government in post-pandemic Britain.

The UK has experienced the biggest economic contraction in 300 years as a result of the pandemic. But the rapid roll-out of vaccines indicates we are dealing with the pandemic and means recovery is in sight. The government ambition is for the nature of that recovery to not only undo the damage of the past year, but also to build back better by levelling up geographically and greening our economy. What is the plan to make a reality of these ambitions? How do the roles of business and government interact in driving the Covid recovery, and helping to build a thriving in post-pandemic Britain?

In this webinar, Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng will set out his plan for the Covid recovery, before discussing the role of firms and government in post-pandemic Britain with Financial Times’ Business Columnist Helen Thomas.

Viewers are able to submit questions to the panel before and during the event.

Kwasi Kwarteng MP – Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Industrial Strategy

Helen Thomas – Business Columnist at the Financial Times
