West of England mayor – economy hustings


This event, hosted by UK think tank Centre for Cities will provide a hustings for West of England mayoral candidates to set out their regional plans.

On 6 May, the West of England goes to the polls to choose a West of England Mayor with important powers and funding over strategic transport, planning and skills. The elected West of England Mayor is a very important role and has the responsibility and opportunity to set out and implement an ambitious and exciting strategic vision for the economy of the West of England area, supporting people, firms and institutions.

As the campaign for the election gains momentum, Centre for Cities and Business West the Chambers and Initiative for the West of England are hosting a hustings (via zoom) for candidates to set out their plans to respond to the pandemic and their recovery strategy for the region with particular reference to infrastructure, innovation and business.
