Both economically and politically a solution is required to solve the question of holiday hunger. A short-term response is needed to deal with immediate pressure, but funds allocated must be earmarked in some form, with spending conditions attached. This must not become the norm as an approach to feeding children. Long-term, food poverty must be addressed via completion of the Universal Credit system through the development of Universal Support and the Key Worker model as a way of tackling its complex social causes.Read Full Report
