In-work poverty in Gwynedd

This report examines in-work poverty in the county of Gwynedd in Wales. The report was commissioned by the council to understand the nature of in-work poverty within the area. Without local authority survey data, the research was undertaken using social security benefit receipt as proxies, finding differences in the nature of in-work poverty between the urban and the more rural parts of the constituency. Interviews with local business suggested particular problems with the seasonality of work and a lack of specialist skills in the area.
