The IM public affairs intern will support the public affairs function across a range of clients. They will take on some responsibility across both client and internal projects, and will work closely with the wider IM team. They will be supported in their development in becoming a consultant and starting a career in public affairs.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and uphold IM values and behaviours in all ways of working
  • Support the wider team on the delivery of projects and campaigns for clients, ensuring work is delivered to the highest quality
  • Assist with researching and developing stakeholder briefing notes for client meetings
  • Support the development of tasks such as political, media and policy monitoring
  • Collaborate with the team on event planning and execution
  • Engage with graphic designers and the wider team on a range of client and company design work including infographics, animations, video case studies, presentations, brochures and maps

Outcomes for the intern

The IM public affairs intern will have the opportunity to begin their journey as a consultant. They will get a detailed understanding of infrastructure project development and planning processes, with insights into a variety of clients and projects. They will learn a range of approaches to working in a high performing team and will gain hands-on experience in creating quality deliverables.
