The Institute for Government is currently inviting applications for a Partnerships Officer (Job Reference: DEV2108), starting as soon as possible.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a highly regarded think tank at the heart of Westminster with close connections to government and all political parties. It is a great chance for an organised person with a commercial track record of one or more years gained in partnerships, public affairs and/or account management roles to provide project and administrative support to the fundraising and partnerships function of the Institute.

Initially providing administrative and project support to the partnerships team, the successful candidate will be supported in developing the necessary skills to generate funding and grow and maintain the Institute’s network of private sector, charity, academic and other partners who support the IfG in pursuing its charitable mission of making government more effective. You will work with staff across the Institute as well as with external partners to support the funding and delivery of the Institute’s research, learning and events programme, including working on the IfG’s annual party conference programme. 

We are looking for a Partnerships Officer to support the Director of Partnerships and Development to achieve the Institute’s external funding targets by offering project and administrative support.

Key tasks include:-

Lead generation and approaching new potential partners to present the IfG’s partnerships offer

  • Supporting the Partnerships and Development team in advocating across the Institute for the advantages of working in partnership and helping staff to develop funding skills and networks to support their projects
  • Supporting the development of funding proposals, agreements and email communications to existing and prospective partners
  • Diary management and scheduling meetings internally as well as with existing and prospective partners 
  • Helping to prepare funding reports for the Board and senior management team 
  • Tracking relationships with new and existing funders 
  • Tracking project revenue and costs 
  • Keeping web pages up to date 
  • Updating and developing the internal customer relationship management system to track resource generation progress
  • Producing invoices and supporting the internal finance function in relation to funding 
  • Attending internal and external meetings and producing and circulating minutes 
  • Provide project support, including the development of the IfG’s annual party conference programme 
  • Supporting other corporate functions of the Institute

The Institute has a pension scheme which you will be automatically enrolled into in your third month of employment. Employees are required to contribute a minimum of 5% of pensionable salary and in return the Institute will contribute a fixed 10% of your pensionable salary.

Death in service life assurance of 4 x salary is provided to all staff.
