At Asthma + Lung UK our vision is for a world where everyone has healthy lungs. A world where lung health is prioritised through better understanding, research, treatment and support. We are dedicated to helping create a world where good lung health and the ability to breathe freely are a basic right enjoyed by all.
We are looking for an ambitious and experienced policy and public affairs professional who can produce new ideas, inspire others in the team, and catalyse policy change that will benefit people with lung disease.
Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.
Reporting to the Senior Policy Officer within the External Affairs Directorate, you will lead on the development and communication of compelling evidence-based policy work and advocate for policy change in public policy and NHS systems and practice.
You will be working on transforming care through innovation and campaigning. This may include building on our huge successes in increasing access to life-changing drugs, driving early and accurate diagnosis or increasing access to COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. This is an exciting time to join the organisation with a new ambitious strategy and plenty of scope to develop your own ideas and shape new campaigns.
You will be analytical, able to take initiative and have a proven track record of influencing change. You will have strong understanding of the political environment and how parliament works, as well as a good understanding of UK health policy.
