This report from the UK think tank Adam Smith Institute looks at the risks of internet regulation.

A new paper by Matthew Lesh, the ASI’s Head of Research, and Sam Dumitriu and Philip Salter of the The Entrepreneurs Network, makes the case for a free, open internet, arguing that if policymakers want to encourage entrepreneurship they should embrace a culture of ‘permissionless innovation’; they should understand that platform liability would cripple the internet as we know it; and that recent legislation like GDPR, EU copyright directives, risk raising barriers to entry and entrenching big players while also risking free speech of ordinary citizens.
