Towards an integrated understanding of place

This report from UK think tank City-REDI argues that many of the challenges facing places are not thematic but systemic.

Drawing together evidence from across the LPIP Hub programme, this report argues that many of the challenges facing places are not thematic but systemic. Whether the issue is skills, innovation, culture, communities or the environment, the same barriers repeatedly emerge: fragmented governance, short-term funding, weak analytical capacity and institutional churn.

The report makes the case for building place capabilities, strengthening governance, partnerships, leadership, data infrastructure and community capacity to support long-term development outcomes.
