Think tank: UK in a Changing Europe

This event hosted by UK think tank UK in a Changing Europe takes stock of the challenges we face and asks how we can confront them.

Global shocks and the international and the domestic effects that follow continue to cause disruption across the world. Fundamental questions remain about how governments can tackle these challenges, while dealing simultaneously with urgent domestic priorities and impatient electorates.

Can governments deal with the costs of rising defence and security commitments? What can we expect from the midterms in the US and the remainder of Trump’s term as President? How will countries manage competition with China and other emerging powers? And what impact will technological and ecological shifts have?

To discuss all this and more, we are bringing together our top panel of foreign policy experts to take stock of the challenges we face and ask how we can confront them.
