The future of social care: What do the public want, and what should reform deliver?

Think tank: The King's Fund
This event hosted by UK think tank the King’s Fund sets out their vision for a reformed adult social care system in England.
Join us for an exclusive online event coinciding with the publication of a major new report from The King’s Fund, setting out our vision for a reformed adult social care system in England.
It’s a pivotal moment for adult social care reform. The new Prime Minister has made a ‘national care service’ a priority and brought forward the independent Casey Commission’s report, while cross-party talks on the future of social care are expected to begin soon.
At this event, we’ll explore public attitudes to change, present the report’s recommendations, and hear from an expert panel on what the think a reformed social care system should deliver for people who draw on care and support, carers, and their families. Topics for discussion include:
- What do the public want from a future social care system?
- What should meaningful change look like in practice?
- How can political leaders build consensus around long-term change?
- Which policy options are most likely to deliver a fairer system for people who draw on care and support?
- What should the government prioritise as the Casey Commission develops its recommendations?
Please note this event is by invitation only. Register online to confirm your attendance. You should receive a confirmation email shortly after registering. If you don’t see it, please check your junk folder. If it still hasn’t arrived, don’t worry – we will also send all registrants a meeting join link before the event begins.
