This report from UK think tank the Institute for Government summarises a government roundtable discussion on resettlement schemes.

Over the last decade, resettlement programmes have safely and successfully brought to the UK hundreds of thousands of people fleeing conflict and persecution. These schemes have rapidly mobilised different parts of central and local government, public services, the third sector and in some cases the general public, to deliver an effective response.

This paper summarises a roundtable discussion bringing together different parts of government working on resettlement schemes, alongside third sector organisations and representatives able to offer international comparison. The discussion aimed to learn lessons from these schemes on how the delivery of existing programmes can be strengthened and to inform the design of any new safe route for refugees to come to the UK.
