Because of support like the furlough scheme, the UK’s employment rate has remained lower than was projected. But many people are still on UC, including nearly 2.8 million people who face requirements that make it difficult to take part in training. Here we discuss why millions of people on UC are facing barriers to accessing training and what the Government should do to widen access for this changing group.
