Powering the labour market

This report from UK think tank Green Alliance looks at skilled work in a low carbon energy system.

Accelerating the transition to a low carbon power system can help to reduce the cost of living, improve energy security and support the government’s levelling up agenda. This report maps out how low carbon energy, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, nuclear and hydrogen have the capacity to create thousands of secure and skilled jobs across the country and where those jobs will be. Whichever way we decarbonise the energy system, it’ll lead to more jobs in the UK, as large amounts of fossil fuels are imported. But how we shift to low carbon power has implications for where that work will be.
