PolicyWISE

PolicyWISE brings together researchers from a wealth of different disciplines, and collates policy and lawmaking knowledge from across the four nations of the UK and Republic of Ireland. We work to increase understanding of the approaches to complex issues being taken across the islands of Great Britain and Ireland, and find solutions to issues facing policymakers across the nations.

Every nation has its own complexities and unique set of needs. That doesn’t mean, however, that they have to work in isolation. At PolicyWISE, we believe that policymakers can be informed by cross-nation learning, and comparative research can lead the way to exciting and innovative solutions to even the most complex problems facing our nations today. Our flagship product, Wise in 5 is a snapshot guide to public policy across the UK and Republic of Ireland; it’s the only comparative research briefing that you can read in five minutes.

Our work focuses on three main spaces: greener thinking; children, education and wellbeing; and innovative and fairer futures. These broad topics allow us to put the efforts of our interdisciplinary researchers into where our work is most needed, and support all policymakers in making better, more informed decisions about the things that matter most.
