Think tank: UK in a Changing Europe

This event hosted by UK think tank UKICE considers how the UK’s economic woes will impact its politics.

The UK economy is under significant pressure. Following a period characterised by slow growth, high inflation and rising borrowing costs, it now faces not only the grave economic consequences of the conflict unfolding in the Middle East but also the hard choices implied by pledges the Prime Minister has made on defence spending.

As UK politicians grapple with how to cope with these challenges, UK in a Changing Europe is bringing together its expert economics panel to consider how the UK’s economic woes will impact its politics.

How can the government respond to increases in food and energy prices that will be felt by both businesses and the public? How will the crisis affect spending in other key policy areas such as defence? And can the government’s ambition to boost growth and bring down the cost of living during this Parliament still be achieved?

Join us online to discuss all this and more.
